My adrenal cocktail recipe
Adrenal Cocktail (Blood Sugar Balanced)
A simple, mineral-rich drink to support energy, stress resilience, and hydration, without the blood sugar spike 🤍
This recipe targets:
Added-Sugar-Free | Dairy-free | Paleo Friendly
Many adrenal cocktail recipes online/from health influencers are very heavy on the orange juice & coconut water, which will spike blood sugar, especially if taken on an empty stomach. The ratio of orange juice/coconut water + healthy fats/protein added in is important to not spike blood sugar <3 The recipe above is balanced/so be sure not to drink a giant glass of orange juice every afternoon, b/c spiking blood sugar isn’t good for our adrenals/hormones.
Ingredient list
Fresh Orange Juice - Unsurprisingly, orange juice is packed with vitamin C- an essential nutrient in times of stress. In fact, chronic stress depletes vitamin C stores. It’s potent antioxidant properties are also needed to fuel the adrenal glands, regulate cortisol production, protect against oxidative stress, and boost the immune system.
Full Fat Coconut Milk or Coconut Cream - The stable, saturated fatty acids in coconut milk help to stabilize blood sugar levels and provide your body with the energy it needs.
Hydrolyzed Collagen Powder - In addition to the coconut milk, collagen acts as a blood sugar regulator in the adrenal cocktail. More so, it provides essential amino acids to support build a resilient gut and boost cortisol production (which should be at it’s highest in the AM).
Coconut Water - Coconut water offers an abundance of minerals, specifically potassium. And when potassium interacts with vitamin C, you get a kick-butt adrenal modulator. Meaning, it’ll either increase or decrease adrenal function, depending on your body’s need.
Sea Salt - Despite common belief, salt is an essential nutrient. After all, it’s the minerals that are essential electrolytes, which are critical in energy production, blood pressure, and adrenal function.
Cream of Tartar for more potassium

Steps
~4 oz fresh squeezed juice, no sugar added (less if consuming on an empty stomach for blood sugar balance)
~2 oz coconut cream (healthy fats!)
~2 oz coconut water (potassium/calcium/magnesium)
Scoop of plain grass-fed collagen (protein)
Pinch of Sea Salt (this adds more sodium/minerals)=
1⁄4 teaspoon cream of tartar (this adds more potassium)
The adrenal cocktails provide electrolyte support which helps to nourish the adrenal glands. The nourished adrenals support the liver in making more ceruloplasmin (bioavailable copper). Since much of the body’s vitamin C is stored in and used by the adrenal glands, wholefood C also plays an important role in the ACs.
Where to start: Start slowly. Some individuals who are extra sensitive may wish to start with 1⁄4 - 1⁄2 recipe to let the body adjust gradually.
Ideally, these should be taken away from food. Aim for around 10 am &/or 2 pm, if possible. However, if your schedule makes it difficult to take them at these times, then take them when you can, as it’s better to take them with food than not at all. Find what works best for your schedule.
IN THE LONG TERM
Most people start with one AC per day, and eventually work up to two per day after a few weeks or months, depending on how their body responds. Some will experiment and find that they respond well to more than two per day, and others find they don’t need them every day. This is a very personal experience, as is finding the recipe that works best for you.
